What does pumpkin juice taste like?

Not sure if this is for you? Pumpkin juice tastes very much like a spook-tastic variation of spiced apple cider! They share a similar flavor combination, especially with the added spices.

This juice is also usually served chilled instead of warm like most cider recipes. The cool temp makes it a very easy drink to serve to large crowds since you don’t have to worry about keeping it warm.

Pumpkin juice is sweet and slightly fruity with hints of spice and familiar autumn flavors. All in all, it is much more mellow in flavor when compared to other cider drinks.

It is a howl-tastic drink to serve with some sliced oranges or cinnamon sticks. You could even top it with some whipped cream and some caramel syrup if you are feeling extra witchy!

Because it is a bit more mellow flavored than spiced cider, this is a kid-friendly beverage as well! It is a healthier alternative to many Halloween beverages, so a big win in the parenting book.

What are the benefits of drinking pumpkin juice?

Pumpkin juice has a variety of benefits, which makes it so much more than just a ghoulish beverage!

Pumpkins are full of vitamin C and beta carotene. They also help to fight inflammation and contain an impressive amount of vitamins and minerals.

The juice of a pumpkin also contains valuable carbohydrates and proteins, which are important for our diet. And, because of that, pumpkin juice has also been used to help encourage weight loss.

Additionally, pumpkins have a laxative effect and can help to encourage better digestion. Perfect for this time of the season when we are treating ourselves to rich and sugary foods!

Tips for making the pumpkin juice

If you want to make this fang-tastic Harry Potter pumpkin juice, here are a few tips and tricks for making an amazing Halloween beverage:

  • For a smoother drink, you can strain this recipe one or two times to filter out any bits of pumpkin.
  • If this Harry Potter pumpkin juice isn’t sweet enough for your witchy taste buds, you can add a few spoonfuls of brown sugar.
  • For even more Halloween flavors, try adding a pinch of pumpkin pie spice as well.
  • Orange juice can be used to replace either the apricot or apple juice if necessary.
  • Allow the drink to chill in the fridge for at least a few hours. This will not only make it the perfect temperature, but it will help the flavors combine.
  • For an extra spook-tacular drink, try adding some whipped cream on top or a generous drizzle of caramel syrup.
  • If you do not have time to completely chill this drink, pour some of the mixture into an ice cube tray and freeze. Then add the ice cubes to the drink for a perfectly chilled beverage that won’t get diluted.
  • If you want even more flavor in your drink, you could add in an apple cider drink packet.
  • Pair the pumpkin juice with Halloween Sandwich Cookies for the ultimate fall combo.
